A Foundation in Therapeutic, Trauma-Informed Yoga
In March 2025, I completed New Zealand’s first-ever Diploma in Yoga Teaching through the New Zealand Institute of Health & Fitness. As part of the inaugural cohort, I received comprehensive training in asana, breathwork, meditation, philosophy, anatomy, teaching methodology, and ethics. This Yoga Alliance-accredited diploma contributes to raising the standard of safe, student-centred yoga education in Aotearoa.
As The Acupuncture Woman, I bring a clinical understanding of the nervous system into my yoga teaching. My practice is rooted in therapeutic, trauma-aware yoga, and I’m currently expanding my skills through further training in Yin and Restorative Yoga—gentle styles that encourage stillness, subtle energy awareness, and deep rest. These approaches complement my work in personalised yoga therapy and trauma-informed yoga in Wellington, offering a holistic experience for those seeking mindful movement and emotional balance.
Reconnect Through Mindful Movement
This is not performance-based yoga.
This is presence-based movement—gentle, informed, and deeply nourishing.

A Holistic Approach to Movement and Energy
At The Acupuncture Woman, yoga is part of a broader, integrative philosophy that includes acupuncture and neuropuncture.
These modalities work together to support the body’s natural rhythms, emotional balance, and energy flow. By combining trauma-informed yoga in Wellington with acupuncture principles, we offer a cohesive experience that encourages deeper connection and self-awareness.
